You must have noticed that Hindus avoid sitting on floor while worshipping or during any pooja. They either sit on a wooden seat or a mat, but never on the ground. Even though we are advised to be seated on the ground while having food, why is it that we shouldn’t sit on the floor during a pooja? Do you know the ideal Puja room vastu? Have a look.
Scientific Reason For Not Sitting on Floor
It has been researched that Mother Earth has the credibility of transferring and absorbing energy from us. If we are directly in touch with the ground while doing bhakti, the power generated inside can be absorbed by Earth quickly. The mat or seat acts as a mediator between the devotee and Mother Earth. To keep the energy generated from the prayer, we are advised to avoid sitting on floor and instead be seated on some aasan.
Avoid Sitting on the Floor to Be Safe From Germs And Insects
The temple ground might have numerous germs and insects since so many people come there to worship. Even our homes might have bacteria and other germs on the floor. To prevent us from getting bitten by insects or getting infected by any bacteria or germs, we should not sit on the floor. We should either use a stool or mat while praying or doing pooja. This way we stay safe from any unwanted infections or diseases.
