Learn Vishnu Sahasranama Chanting through the live online program over zoom by understanding the meanings. Training online ( new batch) commencing on 13th August 2022. The Training on Vishu Sahasranamam is conducted by Vedicology Center for Spiritual Empowerment in association with Divinity Trust Annanagar and the proceeds of the program would empower the lives of the needy. The program equips the participants to understand the meanings of Vishnu Sahasranama and would train the participants to chant Vishnu Sahasranama with the correct pronunciation. This program is a foundation-level program and is meant for beginners.
Mr Praveen Saanker, Founder of Vedicology facilitates this program along with other facilitators and the normal course duration would be 30 sessions on Saturdays. The typical Duration is one hour per day on Saturdays.
Introduction to Vishnu Sahasranama – Learn Vishnu Sahasranama Online
Viṣhnusahasranamam is a list of 1,000 names (sahasranama) Of Lord Vishnu, one of the main deities in Hinduism and the greatest God in Vaishnavism. It’s also among the most sacred and favourite stotras in Hinduism.
“Vishnu” suggests” The All-Pervading One”,” Who’s present Anyplace”,” One that is liberated from bondage”, a person who removes negativity from our lives”. Adi Shankaracharya in his commentary on Vishnu Sahasranamam Indicates Vishnu signifies” Omnipresent” and Eliminator of darkness: Poison (Vish — Nu) or” Supreme Wisdom”
Conceived as the Protector or Preserver, described as dark Complexioned of water-filled clouds and just as with four arms. Vishnu is portrayed in Blue Colour, holding a Padma (lotus flower) in the lower left hand, the Gada (mace) in the lower right hand, the Shankha (conch) in the top left hand along with the Discus weapon Sudarshana Chakra in the top right hand.
“Sahasranama” signifies Sahasra (Thousand ) and Nama (Names) — Thousand Names of Vishnu.
The main figure of Vishnu Sahasranama contains 108 stanzas Written by Shri Veda Vyasa in Mahabharata, Anushasana Parva.
Legend of Vishnu Sahasranama
Following the Mahabharata war, Yudhistra was crowned the king and he had serious questions regarding Dharma to follow in Life. Pancha Pandavas along with Shri Krishna and Shri Veda Vyasa went into Bhishmacharya (lying on a death Bed of Arrows and waiting to depart from the body to the lotus feet of the lord) to get a solution and viewpoint as he was one of the most learned Acharya’s at that time.
Questions Asked were:
- Who’s the greatest lord in the entire world? (Kimekam dhaivatam loke?)
- Who is the one refuge of all? (Kim vaapyekam parayanam?)
- By glorifying who can human beings achieve peace and prosperity? (Stuvantam)
- By worshipping who could man reach auspiciousness? (Kam)
- What’s the best Dharma? (Ko dharmah sarva dharmanaam?
- By doing Japa of what, whom, can you reach beyond the bonds And cycle of death and birth? (Kim Japam muchyate jantur janma samsara bandhanath?)
- Bhishma replied to these questions by reciting one thousand names of Lord Vishnu. He also mentioned that by meditating on these names one can reach the most auspicious state.

Each verse can be chanted for every Constellation/ Nakshatra Beginning from Ashwini and finishing in Revathi. Every title by itself has more than 100 meanings.
Some names are repeated multiple times in a different context with a different meaning.
Vedicology Training on Vishnu Sahasranama – Program Schedule
The program will be conducted across 20-22 sessions by Mr Praveen Saanker and 10 sessions of group chanting, facilitated by Dr Meenakshi Tiwari ( In a total of around 30 sessions). The objective of the program is to empower the seeker to chant Vishnu Sahasranama by understanding the meaning of the shlokas with the right pronunciation. Please note that this is a foundational level program. This would encourage the seeker to firmly place the divine within their inner self and commence their spiritual journey. Please note – Learning to chant Vishnu Sahasranama is just the beginning. A whole new world opens up to the seeker and many paths unfold.
The English sessions will be conducted on Saturdays from 9.30 to 10.30 am IST. We are commencing the English batch on 13th August 2022 and these sessions will be facilitated by Shri Praveen Saanker. The group chanting sessions empower the participants to improve their ability to chant Vishnu sahasranama.

Fee and how do we spend the revenue that we receive from this program?
This program is specifically done in association with the Divinity Trust. The proceeds of the program will be given to the trust to support them for their magnificent work in child education, women empowerment, and support to the differently-abled and mentally handicapped. So, the Fee that you pay for this program can support us to manage our basic expenses to impart these training programs and support Divinity trust for their below-appended initiatives. Our programs are mostly live online programs where the facilitators of the program spend the same amount of time and effort as the participants or seekers. This is very different from a recorded session where you gain access through a username by paying a fee or learning through recorded youtube sessions. The fee that you pay will support the following initiatives by Divinity Trust.
Children
- Help poor children to fight poverty. Education becomes a luxury for the poor when it is difficult to pay for basic necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, and housing. Further poverty is caused by illiteracy. Spend money to support child education in your country.
- We try to support the treatment of babies at risk.
- Support orphan baby girls with necessary nutrition.
Women
- Offer counselling and support to victims of domestic violence.
- Help mothers in your country get the best maternity care. We try and Do our part to help reduce Preventable causes of maternal and infant mortality.
- Provide care and support to destitute women.
Differently-abled
- Support people with disabilities to have equal opportunities. A disability should not prevent someone from being independent. Help the poor with disabilities by donating to them. Do what you can to improve the Satvik guna karma quotient.
- Aid people with disabilities to walk on their own.
Mentally handicapped
- Many people live with intellectual disabilities. Only 20% of people with mental disabilities are literate and gainfully employed. Spend whatever you can for the mentally challenged and help them to achieve independence and dignity.
- Support Special education initiatives that are available to children with disabilities.
- Support the basic food needs of someone with a mental disability.
